Me too, in fact like I said I would be honored to be taking in for someone who thinks Islam is peaceful, and he claims to be a Christian, listen his Qu’ran tells him he is allowed to lie if he feels threatened, of course he’s gonna “SAY” he is a Christian to be a President, but we all know he is infatuated with ISLAM the terrorists! FromDimmuLand: I agree that global warming is a natural occurance just like the Ice Age was a natural penomenom BUT I do believe shoving harmful pollution into the atmosphere which causes Acid rain, and possible helping to speed up global warming should be stopped. There is no reason that we can’t stop harmful practices to our environment especially when the only reason to do nothing is because wealthy businessmen do not want to lose their huge profits!

Yea, climate change is a natural cycle, but with the many tons of CO2 we pump out into the atmosphere, we’re just speeding up the ”natural” cycle, which will cause the climate to drastically change, quicker than it would naturally. We contribute to speed up the climate change, and we can contribute to reverse the effects we’ve caused so far. To be honest, you’re the moron here, with such a comment.

soldieroffortune1974, the proof you are looking for is in peer-reviewed science journals; don’t expect to find it on the news. Each of these journal articles is so dense that it would likely take a layman a few months to get through and understand one of these papers.
By the way, there ARE natural cycles of heating and cooling. These are called Milankovich cycles and they last 26,000 years…. you can’t detect those changes over decades, and you can’t even detect them over centuries.

I fully understand what you’re saying.However,your statement directly contradicts the basis of the argument. You can’t detect the cycles over decades or centuries,true enough.How is it that you can detect man’s contribution to the global warming phenomenon in 1 century and determine it’s detrimental impact?
I agree we should reduce pollution levels,that isn’t the argument. How do you determine 1 from the other? If the other (Milankovich cycles) is undetectable?

Natural cycles of change = astronomical (orbit eccentricity, obliquity of equator to orbital plane, precession of spin axis), solar energy output (incl. common 10 year solar cycle), albedo (reflectivity of Earth to solar input), atmospheric composition, and changes to the thermohaline ocean flow of heat from equator to poles.
Temperature change deviations from these “natural” cycles are measured using ground, ocean, atmospheric, and satellite instruments.

Some of these cycles are short and their contributions are noticeable enough in the time scales that we humans are accustomed to, e.g. solar cycles are 11 years long and Earth temperature data has been HIGHLY correlated to solar activity, at least until the last decade or so as it increasingly exceeds solar variations. Also, the documented century+ of human CO2 level increases are correlated to the temperature increase. That is how you distinguish natural from humancaused

I am interested in discussing this further. Your comments have made more sense than anything I have read/heard so far,however it didn’t quite answer the question. Or maybe it did and I just didn’t get it.
The question was how do you determine the difference in natural cycles and man’s contributing factor.
Space here for comments is limited,so may we speak through PM, or point me to some of the science journals where I can read them “from the horses mouth” so to speak.

If you took Obama as an individual out of the picture, what if any outcomes would the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference have come out with? Thank goodness he at least pulled those countries together in the last hours to commit to something. He alone cannot solve the problems of the world and thus I hope more world leaders show leadership with the many issues we confront today and not depend on people like Obama to drag them along all the time.

Please learn the basics of the carbon cycle and the greenhouse effect before you make slanderous remarks that may confuse some individuals.

COP15 did nothing. The Copenhagen Accord was never legally binding, and didn’t provide a substantial update to the Kyoto Protocol.

Well, as I told you, the Co2 has nothing to do with either Warming ot Change of the planet, that is what you people must understand, the Al Gore curch of Climatology has brainwashed all the people on the planet to belive that..
Co2 is down where the trees are, and not high up in the atmosphere as an greenhous gass…Just ‘read’ about it, the Co2 is DOWN at the tree level, if it were up in the sky, the trees would not be here to give us oxygene, even YOU should figure this out…Stupid.
